SIGHTS IN SUOMU
Räisälä Chapel and ferry
bridge
Räisälä Chapel, located only 5½ kilometres from Suomu, is an
atmosphere-rich chapel that may be reserved as a venue for weddings,
christenings and other family parties.
Räisälä also has the ferry bridge that crosses Lake Kemijärvi in the
summertime and is free of charge. (tämä erikoisesti mainittava
englanninkielisessä versiossa, koska muualla maailmassa lossit ovat
maksullisia).
Riutukka Log Floating
Museum
Travelling from Tonkopuro along the Raakuntie road is the old Riutukka
Log Floating Museum with log chutes that were used for centuries to
move timber from deep within the forests into the waterways. The site
also has a number of buildings, a wilderness cabin for accommodation,
and a sauna on the stream bank. There is also a campfire spot for day
trippers.
Other places to visit

Park, and the Korouoma Canyon with Finland’s biggest waterfall.
Travelling north, the Kemijärvi waterway is only five minutes away, the
town of the same name, Kemijärvi, can be reached in only half an hour,
and the Pyhä-Luosto National Park in just over an hour.
